Classic 70s rock anthem with nostalgic power ballad energy.
Vintage 70s rock ballad with smooth baritone vocals and epic chorus.
Cathedral-style 70s rock ballad with orchestral intensity and bittersweet memories.
Inspiring folk-rock anthem with uplifting melodies and heartfelt delivery.
Nostalgic 70s soft rock ballad with orchestral textures and reflective mood.
Bittersweet 70s pop-rock ballad, a heartfelt tribute in memoriam.
Hold Me Through The Light is one of the most viewed videos on my YouTube channel , and it was also one of the first videos I published.
The song is engaging and nostalgic, with a chorus where male vocals alternate with a female choir (the section shown in this video) — an incredible result.
Style: Classic 70s slow rock anthem, vintage 70s power ballad, male vocals, nostalgic, emotional, 70s, poetic, cinematic rock ballad, memorable, love.
The repetitive use of words that could individually define a style is essential to fully leverage Suno’s functionality. Terms like “vintage power ballad,” “cinematic rock ballad,” and “love,” combined with direct definitions such as “nostalgic,” “poetic,” and especially “emotional,” noticeably shape the vocal timbre.
[Intro: Faint voices in reverb, echo chamber drums slowly rising]
Verses: [Old-school Fender Rhodes vamp with tape delay on vocals] ❮❮— “Old-school” is also an excellent variable, regardless of the style you are creating, because this definition works as a kind of filter that refines the melody so that its essence remains rooted in the desired style.
[Pre-Chorus: Tender lead vocal with delay, soft organ pads, distant tom and cymbal accents]
(You touched my fear and let it fly)
Parentheses around separate phrases in verses (or other sections of the song) are often interpreted by Suno as choir or backing vocals. However, it is uncertain whether this will always produce a specific effect — there are many variations depending on styles, moods, and of course, the prompts preceding these phrases.
[Chorus: Triumphant chords with doubled vocals and tambourine accents]
Hold me through the light—when the fire starts to fade...
[Guitar Solo: Crying bends and tremolo vibrato, tape echo trail]
[Drum Solo: Triplet rolls with classic 70s room sound]
[Guitar Solo: Dramatic octave licks with analog chorus effect]
After uploading, Suno Studio identified the song’s characteristics and highlighted the following block:
The male vocalist has a clear and resonant baritone voice, performing the melody with gentle vibrato and emotional depth.
The song’s structure follows a verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus-finale pattern.
The key is C major, with a chord progression frequently using C, G, Am, and F.
The production elements include warm, natural reverb on vocals and acoustic instruments, creating an intimate and spacious sound. The mix emphasizes vocals and acoustic guitar, with other instruments providing subtle support.

Style (chosen 100% in Style Influence under advanced options): 70s vintage rock ballad, nostalgic, smooth baritone vocals, male vocals, cinematic, introspective, reflective, memorable, 70s vibe, emotional, epic chorus, anthem style, triumphant interpretation, poetic, baritone, 60 BPM.
I emphasized the baritone twice and reinforced it further with male vocals, “forcing” Suno to generate a deep and powerful voice. Definitions such as 70s vintage rock ballad and 70s vibe also contributed to the expected result. Repetitions in the Style emphasize the priorities in building the melody.
In my opinion, this song achieved an excellent result: the overall development of the melody, the powerful and striking vocals, the distinctive chorus, the instrumental section that feels almost legendary, and the choir at the end, which is truly splendid. All of this was possible thanks to a combination of prompts and detailed harmonic progressions.
Specifically about the choir (the section shown in this video), it all begins here:
[Outro: Minor walkdown with reverb tails, haunting harmony feel, guitar harmonic loop with echo trails and angelic choir sustain]
Where is the dwelling place of light?
Where do the roots of darkness lie?
After this section, the choir begins to sing (the excerpt shown in the video), leading into the epic instrumental finale:
[Finale: Lo-fi Mellotron strings loop fading beneath Moog pad and distant guitar delay pulses]
There is a blend of progressions, starting with a Dorian minor progression with pedal tone bass and shimmering organ, Hammond B3 building in crescendo with staccato power chords and drum fill breaks. The verses follow a minor progression with four chords, while the chorus shifts to a major key with a three-chord ascending pattern, open chords, and clean tone.
Bridge in Dorian mode with a five-chord cycle, followed by a guitar solo in a Phrygian-dominant scale run over choir and full band hits.
The distinctive guitar riff, especially present during the transition fills:
[Instrumental Break: Clean-tone electric guitar with volume swells and tape delay]

Style: 70s vintage rock ballad, vintage cathedral rock, nostalgic, male vocals, cinematic, introspective, reflective, memorable, 1970 vibe, vibrant, classical, bittersweet memories, orchestral ballad, intense.
I used orchestral textures and references such as “memorable” and “bittersweet memories” to create a melody that becomes deeply rooted in the listener’s mind.
There is no singing in the introduction, but the sequence is:
[Intro: Orchestral swell into one-chord acoustic vamp and vocal hum]
[Verse 1: Anthemic vocal layering over arpeggiated piano and climbing guitar motif, classic rock ballad in major key, tape delay, emotional phrasing]
It is interesting to note that I prompted the verse to develop in a major key, but Suno Studio identified it as minor. Perhaps because I used a vamp-like vocal hum in the introduction (without vocal lines) leading directly into the first verse, which has a very distinct structure, this “mixture” ended up creating a slow and melancholic song. However, the chorus is explosive, striking, and intense. That’s just a guess — I can’t say for sure if this explanation is correct.
[Chorus: Full band swell with orchestral strings and harmonized group vocals]
The bridge is also a highlight, with a detailed prompt: [Bridge: Dramatic key shift with full vocal stack and delayed guitar, flat second and tritone movement, slow rhythm, cinematic tone]
Followed by an instrumental sequence:
[Instrumental Break: Slow psychedelic riff, tape-saturated fuzz, Mellotron pads underneath, psychedelic dissonant ballad progression, lush pads, phased guitars]
[Guitar Solo: Volume swells and dramatic bends under piano backing]
Then comes the grand finale: [Outro: Theatrical delivery over chromatic piano melody with falsetto backing, soft guitar textures, echo trails]
My dream girl... are you there...
In my dreams... forever fair...
I’ll meet you there...
[Finale: Guitar feedback layered with choir harmony and timpani roll]
(I’ll meet you there)... (My dream girl)...

This song was created using a feature in Suno Studio. I reused another track I had composed a long time ago; at that time, I didn’t have much knowledge about how prompts worked, so I relied on an AI-powered style generator. Style: 60s rock, nostalgic feel, powerful vocals, striking harmonies, impactful chorus, evoking a sense of longing and reflection, with a dramatic bridge.
The prompts were also AI-generated, so they don’t contain many details and are fairly simple (but overall effective). For example:
[Intro] [Heavy guitar riff with organ background]
[Verse 1] [Nostalgic and slightly distorted vocals]
[Chorus] [Strong and powerful vocals, layered harmonies]
The definitions were placed in separate brackets but on the same line, indicating the section of the song. From what I’ve researched, with Suno’s updates this method is no longer necessary; ideally, you should use a format like: [Verse 1: Nostalgic and slightly distorted vocals].
When I loaded the original track into Studio, I selected it entirely, wrote new lyrics, and didn’t change anything else. I didn’t add musical elements or modify the Style — I simply executed the Recreate command.
Since I wasn’t the one defining the final result, Studio itself adapted the original song with the new lyrics, which are much shorter than the original version.
The Style result can only be defined by Studio itself:
A male vocalist sings a powerful and inspiring folk-rock style song.
The song is in a major key and has a moderate tempo.
The instrumentation includes acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and a string section.
The acoustic guitar provides a rhythmic base with fingerpicked chords. The bass plays a supporting role, outlining the chord changes. The drums provide a steady beat with a standard rock pattern. The string section adds a lush orchestral texture, especially during the chorus and instrumental interludes.
The male vocalist has a clear and resonant voice, singing with conviction. The melody is memorable and impactful.
The song’s structure follows the typical verse-chorus format, with an instrumental bridge.
The production is clean and well-balanced, with all instruments clearly audible. Reverb is applied to the vocals and strings to create a sense of spaciousness.

This song is a remix of another track with the same lyrics and stylistic similarities.
The original was defined as: a nostalgic rock ballad with orchestral textures, 70s soft rock, male vocals, poetic, emotional, nostalgic, reflective, slow-to-medium tempo, old-school crooner ballad, 60s/70s hits vibe.
When I created the remix, I shifted the style to a nostalgic 70s rock ballad with orchestral textures, soft rock elements, male vocals, poetic and emotional tone, reflective mood, slow-to-medium tempo, 60s/70s hits vibe, and an “old song” feel.
At that time, ChatGPT (Suno Music Style Generator) produced a structure based on chord symbols. Later, ChatGPT itself stated that Suno doesn’t interpret this type of definition. To be honest, I have doubts about that, since I’ve composed several songs using chord symbols. I built the harmonic base and managed to achieve the intended key. The results were very different from songs that didn’t include this element in the prompt. So I can’t say for sure if it still works today, but I can confirm it worked before..
I used the term “cifra,” which means “chord” in Portuguese (my native language), because that’s how ChatGPT instructed me. I’m not sure if a more specific English term would be more appropriate, but I never tested it, since I stopped using these elements after ChatGPT informed me they didn’t work in Suno.
When I uploaded the track to Studio, it immediately defined the song as: a melancholic folk-rock ballad with a slow tempo and a minor key.
Here is the base chord progression I used in the Intro and at the beginning of the first verse — E minor:
[Intro: Soft Rhodes piano chords with cello pads | Cifra Base: Em Em Em Em]
[Verse 1: Rich clean chest voice, slight grit, Gentle tremolo-picked clean lines, Palm-muted root notes under acoustic guitar, Slow snare-brush ballad pattern | Cifra Base: Em Am G B Em D Em D Em D G Am Em] - I confess I don’t remember where I got the inspiration for this progression, but I borrowed these elements from some famous song (I honestly don’t recall which one).
The song also includes: [Instrumental Break: Mellotron string pads | Cifra Base: Em D Em D Em D]
[Pre-Chorus: Smoky low-end clean vocals, gentle vibrato, Delayed guitar swells, atmospheric backing, Clean octave fills, Toms roll intro with cymbal swells | Cifra Base: Em D C Em D C Em]
[Chorus: Soaring light falsetto harmonies with clean guitar arpeggios, Clean ride cymbal pattern, light ghost notes, tremolo-picked | Cifra Base: D G Em D G Em D G A B Em]
If you listen to the full song on my YouTube channel, you’ll also notice the intensity in the Bridge, where I defined: [Nostalgic, Dreamy light falsetto, airy background vocals, Mid-tempo bouncy walking bass, Soft strummed open chords, vintage spring reverb | Cifra Base: D G Em D G Em D G A B Em]
In the final chorus (the one featured in the video), I created a vocal overlapping effect using a simple method: placing parentheses in the right spots.
[Final Chorus: Floating clean high tenor, vintage timbre with epic clean guitar arpeggios, Clean ride cymbal pattern, light ghost notes, tremolo-picked | Cifra Base: D G Em D G Em D G A B Em]
We are echoes of creation...
[Whispers] ❮❮— This element usually works very well, and the effect varies depending on the prompt and the verse that follows. The use of parentheses also influences the final result.
(echoes of creation)...
Woven threads of sound and art, (sound and art)!
Every note a constellation, (Every note a constellation),
Every voice a beating heart...
[Whispers]
(beating heart, mmmmm)...
The final section: [Outro: theatrical melody, Melancholic spoken-verse, intimate feel, Open D tuning arpeggios, chiming tone, Sustained long notes under vocal harmonies, Toms-only percussive outro | Cifra Base: D G Em D G Em D G Em]
Closing the song:
[Instrumental Break: twin lead guitar harmonized run on Em, Am, D, G, Am, Em over galloping drums]
[Effect: Spoken word delivery, low-pass EQ, eerie reverb]
(A final sound, a final word)...
(The art remains, the world is stirred)!
[Instrumental Break: Rhodes electric piano arpeggios]
[Silence]
[End] - The final result was far superior to the original track I used, according to Studio’s analysis after upload: the melody is simple and memorable.

My Blood Brother is a song I composed to honor my beloved brother Rodrigo Marques Elias. He has departed, but the memories and longing remain endless.
May this humble tribute be at least a spark of the flame of love, kindness, and light that he always represented in our lives.
Style: 70s Ballad, Pop-Rock Ballad, Nostalgic, Male Vocals, Emotional, Reflective, Loss, Old Song, 60/70s vibe, theatrical, 60–80 BPM, faded photograph vibe, classic bittersweet, memorable, triumphant retro, homage, anthological.
When I created this song, I was still learning how Suno worked. Therefore, the prompts were simple. I used the Base Chord system, but due to my inexperience with both Suno and musical progressions, I ended up mixing elements that produced a progression not following the usual standards.
Even so, Suno was able to identify some references.
[Verse 1: Warm male lead vocals, clean electric guitar harmonics over string drones | Base Chords: C Cmaj7 F Am/E Dm7 F/C G C/G G7 E]
[Chorus: Falsetto ad libs, fading strings | Base Chords: C F E A D G B E] ❮❮— This is not a chord progression — it is C–F followed by the standard guitar tuning (E A D G B E).
There are not many variations; basically, I applied these progressions in the Bridge and Outro to generate the song:
[Bridge: Falsetto lead, clean electric guitar melody | Base Chords: Cmaj7 F Am/E Cmaj7 F Am/E Dm7 F/C]
[Outro: Rich strings, subtle harmonic backing vocals, electric piano pads | Base Chords: Cadd9 Cmaj7 F Cadd9 Cmaj7 F# Fm]
After uploading, Suno Studio identified the song’s characteristics. I highlight the following block:
A melancholic country rock ballad in the key of A minor, played at a slow tempo of approximately 60 BPM. The song features a male vocalist with a deep, resonant baritone voice, delivering a heartfelt performance. The instrumentation includes acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and a prominent string section providing lush pads and melodic counterpoints. The chord progression primarily revolves around Am, G, C, and F, creating a somber yet hopeful atmosphere.
It is very rare for Studio to identify progressions in such detail — usually only the key is described. This was the first and (so far) only song where I received such specific feedback about chord progressions.
Perhaps the “chord mess” I created was somehow organized and corrected by Suno, which delivered a beautiful song — exactly what I had hoped for.
The goal was to create a tribute, and that was achieved. Despite its simplicity, the melody is striking, and together with the lyrics, it touches the heart deeply.

Note: This track had the Style field filled together with the lyrics, which can sometimes cause Suno to interpret those words as part of the sung introduction. While it can work well, it may also risk unintended results.
